Manengkel Solidaritas is a dynamic non-governmental organization which develops and implements ecological projects. Our goal is to help and inspire local communities to live alongside the marine environment in a sustainable way. Manengkel Solidaritas was founded in 2015 in Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia, but its concept dates back to 2011. The organization was established due to local marine scientists' growing concerns about the degrading conditions of the unique coastal and marine environments.

 

North Sulawesi Province is situated in the Sulawesi Sea Eco-Region and is part of the Coral Triangle - the most bio-diverse reef system in the world! The region is home to more than 70 species of hard corals and 2,500 species of fish. Unfortunately, many human activities are threatening this precious ecosystem. Manengkel Solidaritas is working towards reducing environmental degradation and providing education to local communities on sustainable marine practices, in order to ensure the protection and well-being of this important marine environment.
