As a volunteer, you will get the opportunity to learn about the outstanding ocean life of the region as well as embrace the chance to be involved in many activities with local communities. Volunteering with us provides a great opportunity to gain experience in research, education and conservation of marine and coastal environments.

VOLUNTEER

Volunteering activities include a wide range of tasks.

  • Writing grant proposals for new projects,

  • Fundraising

  • Collecting data from the marine and coastal areas

  • Helping with mapping and monitoring of ecosystems

  • Assisting our field project coordinators in variety of projects

  • Providing English classes to local children.

Depending on your existing skills and what you want to gain from volunteering with Manengkel Solidaritas we have always range of opportunities available.

Additional information:

Volunteers are expected to work 4-5 hours per day, 5 days a week. Please note that the minimum of stay is 7 days.

Volunteers will stay at Manengkel Solidaritas’s office in Manado, North Sulawesi, which is located 20 minutes drive from the centre of Manado and 15 minutes from Manado International airport.

Please be aware that we provide simple accommodation. Rooms are equipped with ceiling fans (no air conditioning). There is no hot water in the shower. Wifi is available.

Breakfast is provided, whereas other meals can be purchased by volunteers in the nearby restaurants.
