ADOPT A TREE

Taman Kehati Kaki Dian is a 3.6-hectare biodiversity park located in Airmadidi, North Minahasa, established on land owned by PUD Klabat. It was created through a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) partnership between PT. Tirta Investama – Aqua Airmadidi and Manengkel Solidaritas, with the purpose of preserving local biodiversity, rehabilitating previously degraded land, and providing a green educational space for the community.
Since 2019, the park has been managed collaboratively, with key efforts including the planting of native tree species, regular clean-up and environmental maintenance, biodiversity surveys, and the development of educational facilities such as interpretation trails and information boards. The initiative also actively involves local residents—especially from Airmadidi Bawah—in conservation efforts like tree planting and biodiversity monitoring, reflecting a shared commitment to environmental sustainability, community empowerment, and long-term ecological restoration in North Minahasa.
The Kaki Dian Biodiversity Park (Taman Kehati Kaki Dian) has faced several direct threats, including land degradation, loss of native vegetation, reduced groundwater absorption, low environmental awareness, and the risk of land-use conversion. Before restoration began in 2019, the 3.6-hectare area was largely degraded, with less than 15% tree cover, frequent surface runoff during rain, and no systematic protection for native tree species like matoa, cempaka, and kayu besi. As a natural water catchment zone, its damaged state also threatened local water reserves.
At the same time, the absence of environmental education led to improper waste disposal and little appreciation of the site's ecological importance. The land—though owned by PUD Klabat—lacked formal conservation status, leaving it vulnerable to future development.
